Finally - what is a State of the Union without a necessary reflection on our common values? There are still women dying in the EU because they don’t have access to safe and legal #abortion. Our treaties must reflect our values. Time to include #abortionrights in our Charters.

Another important human rights issue I would like to see addressed, is the protection of those rights in our AI-policies #AIAct to actively prevent discrimination. Our Union needs to make sure that Member States establish safeguards, which oversee the use of AI in risk profiling

Make no mistake: Agenda Europe shows us the anti-gender movement is active here and they intend to stay. This religious extremist movement wants to take away women’s reproductive rights, LGBTI+ rights and ‘restore Europe to the Natural Order’. It is a hateful and bizarre ideology

Incredible! The @Europarl_EN wants to include the right to abortion in the Annex to the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the EU. We just adopted this provision and the resolution to safeguard abortion rights and Women’s health in the EU in plenary. #RoeVWade #abortionrights

Even in the case of rape or incest, victims are often denied abortion care. Imagine the impact of that and victims leaving behind traumatized and damaged. Abortion right is a human right. We need to amend our EU treaties to take care of that. #AbortionIsHealthcare #abortionrights
