In the LIBE committee, Danish social democratic minister clarifies its deterrent and refugee policies. Depriving Syrians of protection, outsourcing asylum seekers to developing countries. Paying lip service to solidarity, but in essence aiming to circumvent any responsibility.

Danish minister answering questions on the harsh Danish asylum policies (including the aim of returning refugees to Syria) gets support literally only from the far right in @EP_Justice.

The emergency measures presented by @EU_Commission create a legal fiction.

Redirecting people to apply for asylum at Belarusian border crossing points, while this is in practice not possible, is not 'compliant with human rights' but de facto endorses current pushback practices.

Calais, Belarus, the Mediterranean; as long as government leaders refuse to take a decision on a common European asylum and migration package, we keep having these crises.
