Felicitaties aan #AlesBialiatski en aan @viasna96 met de toekenning van de Nobelprijs voor de Vrede. Ik sprak hem daags na de kaping van het Ryanair toestel boven Belarus in 2021. Enkele weken daarna werd hij opnieuw gearresteerd en zit sindsdien nog steeds gevangen. - 1/3

Trials against political prisoners in Belarus are brutal. Disabled activist Uladzimir Hundar, also on trial in the completely fabricated case against Mikalai Autukhovich, was tortured and chained to a cage in the courtroom. He must be released immediately and unconditionally.

We will keep the focus on Belarus. #EUCO leaders last night again emphasised the “democratic right of the Belarusian people to new, free and fair elections” following our @Europarl_EN resolution of 19 May. We will not rest until the dictatorship ends and justice is served.⚪🔴⚪
