The US warns that EU levy on digital firms “risks derailing [international] tax negotiations”.

But EU shouldn’t give in to US strong-handling. It’s perfectly legitimate to ask a contribution from the digital firms that profited most from the pandemic.

+1There is no way that the EU could give the big winners of the Covid crisis a free pass. The digital levy must be pressed forward. Even though US policy makers work together with Big Tech to stop it.

➡️On the European digital levy, we talked about overcoming resistance. The general feeling is that there is a current momentum to proceed as swiftly as possible.

If necessary, first with a coalition of the willing. Digital companies need to pay their fair share of taxes💰
