We are facing a serious challenge, but we have to remain calm. The EU has to immediately initiate talks with Russia and Turkey to resolve both crises in Idlib and at EU’s borders. Support for GR and BG is of utmost importance. We have to de-escalate and act now!

Horrible night: 33 Turkish soldiers confirmed to have been killed by Syrian airstrikes -backed by Russia- in Idlib.

How this dreadful act, however, could justify using Syrian refugees as blackmail towards EU is beyond comprehension.

Idlib. Een humanitaire ramp niet ver bij ons vandaan. Toch is er weinig aandacht voor. De helft van de Syrische vluchtelingen is onder de 18. We kunnen hen niet aan hun lot overlaten. We moeten zorgen voor fatsoenlijke opvang en een veilige plek. @EenVandaag

I hope soon we will see #Assad in The Hague so some justice can be done to suffering he inflicted on millions of Syrians. #Idlib

The sad thing is that by ‘evacuating’ people to Idlib, the risk that sooner or later the entire area would become a perfect target, was entirely predictable, and the world does nothing to stop it #Syria ↘️
