50 jaar na de uitspraak Roe v. Wade wordt pijnlijk duidelijk dat verworven rechten ons weer kunnen worden ontnomen.

In de VS hebben conservatieve rechters abortus verboden.

Daarom moet het recht op abortus verankerd worden in de wet.

Incredible! The @Europarl_EN wants to include the right to abortion in the Annex to the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the EU. We just adopted this provision and the resolution to safeguard abortion rights and Women’s health in the EU in plenary. #RoeVWade #abortionrights

Het 🇪🇺 Parlement debatteert vanavond over het recht op abortus, naar aanleiding van #RoevWade.
Ook in Europa zijn er mensen die de tijd willen terugdraaien en dit zwaarbevochten recht van ons af willen pakken.

Daarom moeten we onze stem ook hier laten horen: baas in eigen buik.

Following the @Europarl_EN resolution on global threats to #abortion rights the EU needs to give financial support to US-based civil society organisations and protection for medical professionals who are at risk of legal persecution. We need to offer them a safe haven.#RoeVWade

Sexual and reproductive health and rights cannot be taken for granted, as we see with #RoeVWade in the US. In many Member States access to #SRHR is also increasingly undermined.

Vanmiddag had ik de eer om op de @baasineigenbuik manifestatie te spreken. We stonden daar op de Dam met een duidelijke boodschap: abortusrecht is een mensenrecht! Dit moet zo snel mogelijk verankerd worden in de Europese Unie. My body, my choice. Bemoei je er niet mee! #RoevWade

Gisteren sprak ik in het @Europarl_EN over het recht op veilige en legale abortus. #RoevWade laat zien dat we ook hier waakzaam moeten blijven. Een verbod op abortus zorgt er alleen maar voor dat abortussen onveiliger zijn voor vrouwen. Dat is onacceptabel. Baas in eigen buik!

Your right to self-determination is non-negotiable.
