Who run the world?

Amazing to meet @jacindaardern, a prime example of good leadership and a inspiring key figure in the battle for a more social & green future!

The deal between New Zealand and the #EU shows that #sustainability and #trade can go well together.

🤝 Important deal today!

The right to disconnect is part of the agreement that trade unions and employers signed this afternoon, in presence of @VDombrovskis.

Good work @etuc_ces! Workers deserve their ‘not now’-time when their off work - that’s a right.

Collective bargaining must be strengthened, and is done by trade unions!

When the collective bargaining coverage rate is below 80%, Member States must make a National Action Plan with concrete measures to progressively increase the rate.

Social partners should be involved.

The adequacy of statutory minimum wages has to be assessed by Member States.

60% of the median gross wage and 50% of the average gross wage is a good benchmark, as suggested in the Directive.

This is internationally recognised as a decent standard.

Ukraine’s people have been asking us to ban RU ships for weeks. And rightly so: while we closed our airspace weeks ago, 6,000 Russian ships continue Putin’s global trade on the seas.

Yesterday the Council finally decided to ban RU ships. But there are two huge problems.

I have said before: the 5th EU sanctions round is not good enough. How on earth does imposing a coal embargo in August (!) help stop Putin’s troops from murdering more civilians today?

But there is more to be ashamed of. And it’s not what you think.
