Slechte verliezers. Lijsttrekker LibDems, Jo Swinson, verloor haar zetel. Zij was meest uitgesproken pro-EU. Labour slechtste resultaat sinds 1935. Tories beste sinds 1987. Grootste verliezer: opiniepeilers.

.#CorbynOut ,no problem: hij deed niets om voortwoekerend antisemitisme in #Labour aan te pakken. Vertrek VK uit #EU is verlies aan beide zijden van Het Kanaal. Nu na #Brexit er voor zorgen dat o.a. belangen van onze vissers niet geschaad worden!

@wierdduk @bpschut @janwillemwits @Esther_Voet Bercow was een nasty conservative rechtser dan wie ook. Tot hij zijn ega ontmoette, een Labour MP. In korte tijd was hij stuk linkser. Wat een ega al niet kan doen.

Het wordt spannend maar mijn inschatting is dat Johnson het wel eens zou kunnen redden dankzij een aantal Labour stemmen. En als hij ‘verliest’, dan wint hij alsnog; dan heeft hij goede uitgangspositie voor verkiezingen (want uiteindelijk gaat Europadebat daarom in VK).

@queervidual Frans waardeer ik zeer. Niet geheel mijn man maar ere wie ere toekomt. Ik heb alleen moeite met de PvdA en met veel sociaaldemocraten. Ze pakken de sociale ongelijkheid niet aan. Zie labour. Die Corbyn is meer met zichzelf bezig dan met zijn land.

Debat in @Europarl_EN ovr #Brexit. @eucopresident en @JunckerEU verwachten dat het Verenigd Koninkrijk zich constructief gaat opstellen in de komende maanden, en dat de Tories en Labour overeenstemming gaan bereiken, tbv een orderlijke exit op 31/10. Lijkt nogal wishful thinking.

Daar is ie dan: een amendement van Labour dat over douane-unie met de EU lijkt te gaan. Maar let op: dat is slechts een van de opties. Het gaat vooral om ‘meer tijd’ (hoeveel meer wordt niet gekwantificeerd).

@a_mulder @Brexit De Britten komen er zelf niet meer uit: niemand heeft haalbaar alternatief, ook Labour niet. Laat de EU, die ook getroffen wordt door Brexit, helpen. Startvraag is: wat is nodig om onze Britse vrienden ìn de EU te houden?!

Ben er maar blij mee... Labour is tot op het bot verdeeld over Europa. En Corbyn blinkt uit in vaagheden. Dit brengt een oplossing niet dichterbij, niet voor onze ondernemers, niet voor Britse workers, niet voor Unieburgers.

Wie de hardliners zijn bij de Conservatives, weten we. De gewetensvraag is nu voor Labour, dat een zachte Brexit wil om banen te beschermen. Die ligt nu op tafel. Stemmen ze voor? Of brengt Corbyn liever May ten val? Opkomen voor de gewone man of voor persoonlijk belang?
