@dmdebruijn @MaessenJos @jajijdaar1 Treurig dat je je ondanks die afkomst niet beter verdiept. De democratie in Spanje is jong en onderontwikkeld. De wet waarmee Catalanen worden vervolgt stamt uit het Franco-tijdperk. Dat zijn de feiten.

@wanderingtati @RacismDog The strong centralism off government has it’s roots in this period. Burning of books was combined with periods of tolerance. Spanish democratic tradition is relatively young. History of tyranny is long. Law that prosecutors use in political trials stems from the Franco period.

Certainly. But the @EU_Commission too often takes no action, or only slow and timid action, if member states do not apply EU law. @Europarl_EN makes laws, but should also better oversee their application in practice.

To assists member states in the implementation of #EUlaw properly across #EU? & The Commission can take action if an EU country doesn’t fully incorporates EUlaw into its national law by the set deadlinemight not have applied EU law correctly

@HuubBellemakers Is de continue strijd helaas. Nuance: H2 is cruciaal om verduurzaming van energie-intensieve industrie te verwezenlijken (vergeet merendeel transport). Dat moet uiteindelijk met waterstof obv duurzame elektronen. Maar vergt tijd en forse investeringen. Rol gas is er. Met mate.

If workers' rights are not respected in the agricultural sector, direct #CAP subsidies must be cut!
It is a structural problem, many workers are being exploited.
It has to end: we need #SocialConditionality!
🟥Farmworkers' rights are not red tape! It is time to make CAP payments conditional to the respect of labour & human rights! #CAP needs #SocialConditionality.

My plea for systematic scrutiny of the enforcement of EU laws. Without proper enforcement, even the best laws are only hollow shells.
