We moeten de macht van grote techbedrijven als Facebook en Google inperken zodat we echt iets te kiezen hebben op het internet en niet overgeleverd zijn een handjevol techreuzen. Morgenochtend stemt de interne markt commissie van het Europees Parlement hierover. Mijn inzet: (1/4)

Democratie vereist voortdurend onderhoud en bescherming. Ook tegen wie democratisch macht verwerft, om vervolgens democratie en rechtsstaat actief uit te hollen. Ook #Fidesz 🇭🇺 en #PiS 🇵🇱 zijn verdienmodellen geworden voor hun klepto-autocratische leiders. #RuleOfLaw #Algorithms

The EU said at COP26 they want to "lead global change to protect our planet".
We assume this means the European Parliament will #VoteThisCAPDown next week, as the proposed CAP would be disastrous to the climate and environment and is not nearly in line with the Paris Agreement.

Juist nu is er behoefte aan duidelijkheid! We moeten streven naar gemeenschappelijke en begrijpelijke reismaatregelen in de EU. Als alle lidstaten nu weer eigen regeltjes gaan opstellen beginnen we weer van voren af aan en daar is niemand mee geholpen.

This particular criticism comes from the European Parliament. So “Brussels” is under fire from “Brussels”?
No wonder people get confused.

Mooie woorden onder druk, maar zodra niemand kijkt, leunt Shell achterover. Zoals al duidelijk werd bij verhuizing naar Londen, staan bij Shell winstbeluste aandeelhouders voorop. Klimaatbeleid is leuke bijzaak voor de media. Zelfs na uitspraak rechter.

Terwijl de FNV thuis weinig resultaat lijkt te behalen maakt ze zich sterk voor een EU minimum loon. De socialisten uit Denemarken en Zweden zijn er overigens mordicus tegen.

Via 12,400 brievenbusfirma’s wordt in Nederland geld witgewassen en belasting ontweken. En ze voegen niets toe aan onze economie. Criminelen en multinationals maken van Nederland een wereldwijde, stinkende afvoerput.
Met rapport van ter Haar ligt er nu een plan voor actie.

@mathijsbouman Kinderen? Is dat de wereld die we willen? Het voorbeeld dat we geven? Als lapmiddel voor ruim tien jaar wanbeleid gaan we nu strooien met geld? Mensen en de maatschappij corrumperen? Laten we de oorzaken aanpakken in plaats van brandjes te blussen en dweilen met de kraan open.

Onverstandig en oneerlijk dat de Tweede Kamer een greep wil doen in de inkomensondersteuning van boeren, op voorstel van D66. Het lijkt of de coalitiepartijen nog in het verleden leven.
Inkomenssteun is geen EU-geldpot waar boeren niks voor hoeven te doen!

Since 1995, tax schemes for the ultra wealthy in the EU increased 5 times. Total cost to the taxpayer: €4.5bn/y.
These are billions flowing to the rich instead of those who need it. We need to get our priorities straight.
