Na de twee recente rondes EU-sancties, waaronder tegen de zogenaamde ‘moraalpolitie’ die Mahsa Amini doodde moet er meer gebeuren. Er wordt teveel weggekeken en afgewacht. Het regime moet horen van de wereld dat dit een heilloze weg is die alleen tot verdere isolatie leidt. 5/

Wat begon als een protest na de dood van #ZhinaMahsaAmini is uitgegroeid tot een brede nationale opstand, nog steeds met de dappere vrouwen van Iran voorop. Zij verdienen onze volle steun. Het regime zit nu echt klem, getuige de steeds draconischer en paniekerige repressie. 4/

Op het Malieveld roepen Nederlandse politici op tot EU sancties voor het Iraanse regime. Het Europees Parlement deed dat deze week. MEPs want EU to sanction officials responsible for Mahsa Amini’s death europarl.europa.eu/news/en/press-… via @Europarl_EN

Iran is not its regime. It is defined by its people.
Today the people, demanding justice for the killing of Iranian-Kurdish woman Mahsa (Jina) Amini, are standing up to the regime. Undeterred by ruthless violence.
