The stakes are high, but the measures inadequate. Imposing criteria on targeted advertising in election periods is much welcome, but the use of personalised advertising for disinformation won’t stop in non-election time if you only impose transparency requirements... @VeraJourova

Het is 2020, niet 1920, maar pakketbezorgers worden per stuk betaald! De waanzin van het flexwerk moet stoppen. Postbedrijven moeten hun bezorgers gewoon in dienst nemen.

De gezondheid van mensen moet voor de winsten van farmaceutische bedrijven gaan. Samen met @jesseklaver en andere Groene leiders roep ik in een brief de EU op het verdienmodel aan te pakken en medicijnen toegankelijk en betaalbaar te maken voor iedereen.

Waar blijven toch de berekeningen over de gevolgen van de #greendeal voor onze landbouw? Die cijfers zijn nog steeds niet bekend, terwijl de doelen toch zéér ingrijpend zijn, zoals 25% biologische teelt en 50% minder gewasbeschermingsmiddelen.Lees hier:

The proposal to make public CbC reporting a reality is currently stuck at the Council. All we need is Portugal to prioritize this last legislative step to finally make public Country-by-Country reporting obligatory for multinationals!

Shifting profit through tax havens costs societies hundreds of billions of lost revenue. Public CbC reports can show how much is avoided, paving the way for the efficient crackdown of loopholes. The revenue is much needed. Needless to say: now more than ever! ✊

Many countries already require multinationals to do CbC-reporting to their tax authorities, so publishing these reports costs nothing. Shout-out to @VodafoneGroup and yes, even to @Shell 💪, doing this voluntarily and showing it doesn’t harm competitiveness at all!

CbC reporting requires multinationals to publish info on profits, costs and taxes in each country they operate. Currently they are only obliged to report global profits as a grouped sum. More transparency allows us to hold companies that shift profits to tax havens accountable 🔍

Toekomst #visserij is afhankelijk van o.a. Brexit, aanlandplicht, windmolens op zee, puls, klimaatverandering. Sterker nog, Art. 2 Klimaatakkoord zegt duidelijk dat voedselzekerheid niet bedreigd mag worden door tegengaan klimaatverandering. Vissers mogen dus niet de dupe worden!

De EU-plicht om ook ondermaatse vis en bijvangst aan land te brengen werkt niet goed: dat bevestigde een rapport dat we vanochtend bespraken in de Europarlementscommissie voor #visserij. Selectiever vissen is goed, maar deze onwerkbare maatregel moet van tafel!

Is er nog plaats voor vissers op zee? Vanmorgen bespraken we in de Europarlementscommissie voor #visserij een rapport over #windmolens op zee. Die kunnen allerlei schadelijke gevolgen hebben voor vis en milieu. Ik bepleit daarom een bouwstop van windparken in visrijke gebieden!

We could only approve this vaccine so quickly because we have left the EU. Last month we changed the regulations so a vaccine did not need EU approval which is slower.

Nee, hoor! Elk EU-land kan een vaccin sneller dan EMA goedkeuren in deze omstandigheden.
Daarbij is deze Britse borstklopperij over een Duits-Amerikaans vaccin, geproduceerd in België, gewoon sneu.

De benodigde wetgeving daarvoor is er al, maar Europa moet verder gaan om de slag om data te winnen. Mijn DSA-rapport stelt voor een Europees inlogsysteem in te richten als alternatief voor de log-ins van Google, Facebook en Apple. Met privacy by design. #DSA #eIDAS

GroenLinks en PvdA willen een einde maken aan tijdelijke huurcontracten. Deze veroorzaken veel stress en zorgen voor hogere huren.
