@mathijsbouman @beroepsvissers Macro-economisch gezien mag de visserij-sector dan niet zo groot zijn, maar de impact vd visserij / Brexit is wel kolossaal voor een forse reeks van visserij-gemeenten in NL. Plus voor tal van toeleveringsbedrijven in meerdere sectoren

Er moet een direct verband zijn tussen EU fondsen en schadelijke EU belastingregimes volgens voormalig Italiaans premier @SenatoreMonti. Dat zou flinke consequenties voor NL kunnen hebben! Interessante discussie tijdens de tweede FISC hearing van @EP_Taxation

Het is aan Europa, we moeten nu aan de slag met innovatie in het GLB en de nationale strategische plannen! We hebben geweldige innovatieve ideeën. De Commissaris moet met zijn portefeuille van Agri aan de slag en daarbij de democratische wil van het EP en de Raad respecteren!

Voorkomen dat:
1⃣Mondiale platformbedrijven risico’s via ZZP-constructies op sociale zekerheid (=belastingbetaler) afschuiven;

2⃣Zij door gebruik van belastingparadijzen vaak onvoldoende belasting betalen in landen waar hun winst💰is behaald.

The marginalisation of LGBTI people in several Member States goes hand in hand with a real threat to health. Some authorities choose not to give priority to PrEP access, this is inexcusable.

Het woningtekort is nijpend, in Nederland en in heel Europa.

Bij nieuwbouwprojecten moeten er daarom ook meer sociale huurwoningen bijgebouwd worden.
Iedereen moet betaalbaar kunnen wonen!

Hopelijk steunt @kimvsparrentak die ambitie straks ook in @EPSocialAffairs! 🏡

Het heeft even geduurd maar deze horde op bankengebied is genomen. Een sterker noodfonds voor banken in problemen dankzij inzet van het ESM. Maar: risicoreductie blijft van groot belang en steun alleen voor lidstaten met houdbare staatsschuld.

Europe needs a strong Rule of Law mechanism that helps protecting EU citizens from abuses of power by their governments. But there is also a problem of willpower. Holding the Commission accountable for its dereliction of duty should be on the table.

Na lang aandringen kondigt Eurocommissaris @NicolasSchmitEU nu aan met Europese platformwetgeving te komen!

Draai de bewijslast om: geef platformwerkers dezelfde rechten als werknemers, tot het platform kan bewijzen dat er geen arbeidsrelatie is.

The @EPPGroup has consistently advocated for an EU-wide mechanism to monitor #ruleoflaw, #democracy & #fundamentalrights in every Member State. This is the only fair way to proceed. When the rule of law is breached - the EU must act.
