Unity and solidarity are our strongest weapons. I will never give up on striving for that.

But truly ashamed about the decisions taken last night by the @EUCouncil I call on all member states to rethink quickly and step up our game. We will not get a 2nd chance to do it right.

Overall, I believe this outcome is good for our economy, the health of our banks and consumer protection. @Europarl_EN and @EUCouncil now need to work on an agreement on the remaining part of the file, concerning out-of-court collateral recovery of secured business loans (AECE).

The European Parliament has recently given the Commission an ultimatum to use its powers to sanction governments violating EU values financially.
