The #EU has created their own problems and own shortage by closing reliable energy sources like nuclear- and coal power plants and reduce gaswinning. And all because of the subsidies for the #unreliables (solar and wind). Wrong investment.

Today @EP_Trade adopted the opinion on Sustainable Corporate Governance that I worked on, addressing:

- the issue of short-termism and lack of corporate accountability

- that vulnerable supply chains have shown that voluntary rules are insufficient

- the importance of taxonomy

I negotiate #Taxonomy for @TheProgressives. We want the most ambitious text possible: one that covers all financial products, doesn't allow for greenwashing, and ensures "green" products do not harm the rights of workers and citizens. People and Planet should go hand in hand! 8/

Proposed EU rules seek to address exactly this: create a "taxonomy" of what is green and what isn't. To be environmentally sustainable, investments need to benefit our environment, without doing harm to for example biodiversity or the circular economy. 4/
