Very glad to have spoken with @LeijtensFrontex on his 3rd day as @Frontex ED. We had a frank and fruitful exchange about the importance of increased transparency and accountability of the Agency, as well the structural changes needed to ensure fundamental rights compliance.

Ordo luris thinks it’s a good idea to oppose the EU’s accession to the Istanbul Convention, therefore opposing mandatory efforts by member states to prevent violence against women. Already asked @EP_President to remove this organization from our transparency register.

Where EU Member States are in a deadlock on internal reforms, they are united in outsourcing their responsibility for refugees to third countries. Funding is the main tool. More transparency and scrutiny of this funding is key to ensure fundamental rights. Thanks @ecre

His investigation makes one thing clear: transparency alone isn't enough. Regulators should sanctions funds that say they're green, but fund brown. And regulation needs to improve. With clearer minimum standards for green products. To say you're green, you need to be green. 5/

Since 8 months, I ask for public access to the OLAF report. After 2 refusals by Frontex, now with OLAF. I just received a reply that they need more time. But now we all know why this transparency is key to hold Frontex and Greece accountable and to stop these blatant violations.

Three jurisdictions added is good development but many still lacking. Unclear why countries are added or removed. More transparency about the creation and monitoring is necessary!

Access to documents and transparency is vital for a healthy democracy. The rapid rise of the European Union as a political powerhouse should be accompanied by more robust public scrutiny and accountability. Compliments to @EUombudsman for the important work it does in this area.

@SamBouchal @BrusselsTaxiFed Do many years and taxi still not have an answer to Uber. Customers do not prefer Uber because of low prices alone. But because of transparency, customer friendliness and availability. Taxi’s don’t do enough to battle this advantages.

The question is why @Europarl_EN allows this to happen. Instead of individual MEPs fighting the battle for transparency and accountability, there should be an institutional response. If Parliament doesn’t step up to the plate, EU democracy is in the danger zone

Avoiding disinformation is important to prevent conspiracy theory but our governments should lead by example. They didn’t. ⤵️

The greatest assets of #blockchain are traceability and transparency. The amendments to the Transfer of Funds Regulation make transers to a wallet unnecessary complicated, come with privacy risk and will hinder innovation. I will vote against. @paddi_hansen

The @EU_Commission has made its own rules on transparency, with a carve out for text messages, that the EC considers too "short-lived" and "not important" to be subject to transparency rules. We are curious to hear the official legal definitions for that 🍿

Transparency is a big deal. Without it, we cannot have a functioning democracy. A @EU_Commission that is actively undermining transparency is a very big problem for EU democracy. President @vonderleyen should answer for it, but refuses to do so. Repeatedly.
