Absurd dat kabinet zelfs in hoger beroep wil tegen onrechtmatig uitstel van gezinshereniging. De uitspraak is glashelder. Leg op zijn minst in de tussentijd de uitvoering van dit beleid stil! Kabinet wil nareisbeperking asielzoekers (nog) niet loslaten trouw.nl/ts-bda6db67

If this reckless execution of #MoshenShekari, protesting for freedom, is not sanctioned, more executions will follow. Respond adequately to this terror regime: step up sanctions and isolate Khamenei, IRGC, and all their enablers. Iranian people need our support, not only words.

Appalled by the execution of #MohsenShekari, 1st carried out in connection with protests in Iran. We will discuss Iran at FAC with EU ministers.
Emphasis on handling of protests by authorities and need to respect fundamental rights. EU against death penalty in all circumstances.

The proposal for Instrumentalisation Regulation has been blocked in the Council. In the Parliament, we will first assess the impact of the proposal on fundamental rights, before we even negotiate. Hopefully these exceptions to core asylum rules will not become legislation.

@MarnixKoopmans5 @suzanne_GL Dat is min of meer conform de Europese waterstof strategie. Verhinderen is wel echt te sterk, maar enige terughoudendheid is logisch. Voor industrie (en zware mobiliteit) is immers vaak geen alternatief

The rules as proposed will allow platform workers, labour inspectors and trade unions to challenge fake self-employment. In that case, it will be up to the platforms to prove that they work with truly independent workers free from their control.

And as if this is not bad enough already, they are constantly monitored and managed by black box algorithms. They don’t know why they get certain tasks or prices and are sometimes even fired without any explanation.

Uber's business model is based on the exploitation of workers. Claiming that their drivers and riders are self-employed – which they are clearly not – Uber circumvents minimum wage and social protection laws. As a result, workers are underpaid and have no social protection.

@Frontex EU taxpayer money is being used to carry out these illegal pushbacks. This is a clear violation of EU funding rules. The EU Commission needs to explain how this could happen and must exercise proper scrutiny over its 100s of millions of border and migration management funding.

This brutality is carried out in plain sight of @Frontex officers. Clearly, the agency still fails to uphold its fundamental rights duties, thereby becoming complicit. Frontex MUST take human rights as seriously as border control. If they can't, they're obliged to withdraw.

Mensen op de vlucht worden in Bulgarije in kooien gestopt en in Kroatië urenlang opgesloten in politiebusjes.
Dit gebeurt met medeweten van EU-grensagentschap Frontex en met gebruik van EU-geld.
De EU Commissie moet opheldering geven over deze bizarre praktijken en ingrijpen.
Op de Balkan worden migranten aan de buitengrenzen van de EU systematisch vastgehouden in clandestiene detentiecentra, waaronder busjes, zeecontainers en een kooi. Een deel hiervan is door de EU bekostigd, blijkt uit onderzoek. nrc.nl/nieuws/2022/12…
