Onlogisch: de Europese Commissie erkent dat de populatie #aalscholvers niet meer bedreigd is. Maar wil de beschermde status niet aanpassen.
Dat kan zo niet doorgaan!

De beschermde status van de #aalscholver is achterhaald. Hun aantal is zó sterk toegenomen dat ze een probleem zijn voor vis en #visserij.

Zonet aangedrongen op aanpassing, met brede steun in het Europarlement! (1/2)

De #aalscholver populatie is gigantisch, heel mooi, maar nu gaat het ten koste van onze natuur, #biodiversiteit en #visserijsector! We moeten de populatie beheren en wel op EU-niveau en niet afschuiven op de nationale regionen terwijl het klaarblijkelijk grensoverschrijdend is.

Het Europese antwoord op de Chinese Nieuwe Zijderoute is niet voor niets 2 weken uitgesteld blijkt. Het begint nu (terecht) serieuze vormen aan te nemen: van de oorspronkelijke 40 miljard naar 300 miljard.

As @vonderleyen promised, she would follow up on our legislative proposals. I took her word for it and count on concrete @EU_Commission proposals next year.

I look forward to work with all my @Europarl_EN colleagues to tackle golden passports and visa in the EU!

Third: as Member States are selling something that’s not theirs to sell - access to the EU - and this creates risks for all Member States, an EU level tax on the “investments” is more than justified.

Also: stronger checks in the EU #antimoneylaundering laws are needed.

Second: strong EU Regulation of golden visas to clean up these schemes.

Including: stronger checks on applicants, curbing the commercial intermediaries, real physical residence checks, reporting and notifications to the @EU_Commission, and rules on the allowed investments

These schemes attract the wrong people for the wrong reasons. There are serious corruption, tax evasion and money laundering risks.

Een goede uitwerking van de Europese waterstofstrategie is daarom essentieel voor een succesvolle energietransitie. We moeten de productie van groene waterstof opschalen en het eerst inzetten waar dat het hardst nodig is en het meeste resultaat heeft. (4/4)

Het waterstofproject in Groningen is een mooi voorbeeld. Mede met Europese investeringen wordt daar voor 2025 een groene waterstof hub gecreëerd waarmee de industrie, transport en gebouwde omgeving wordt verduurzaamd, maar het ook nog eens 20.000 banen oplevert in de regio. (3/4)

Ook voorzitter @vonderleyen merkte vandaag in haar openingsspeech op dat groene waterstof een centrale positie in zal nemen in de toekomstige klimaatneutrale economie en de #EU hier koploper in moet zijn om onze klimaatdoelstellingen van de #EUGreenDeal te halen. (2/4)

Vandaag is de Europese week van waterstof van @fch_ju van start gegaan. Tijdens deze week wordt er gesproken over de enorme kansen die groene waterstof biedt voor verduurzaming van verschillende sectoren. #EUHydrogenWeek

Van de miljoenen vaccins die de #EU beloofde te leveren, is nog geen 10% geleverd en toch blijft het delen van vaccinlicenties geblokkeerd worden? Hef de patenten tijdelijk op en laat anderen dan alleen maar #BigPharma produceren.

The @EU_Commission will present its proposal on platform work next week. With colleagues, trade unions, and 5 EU labour ministers I am calling for:
- Access to fair working conditions through employment status.
- Rules on fair and transparent algorithms.

As platform workers are often misclassified as self-employed, they have no protection in times of crisis & have to shoulder all the risks. This must change!
