Naast Google zullen ook Apple en Amazon met klamme handen dit antwoord afwachten.

1⃣ Transparency of recommender algorithms is perfectly feasible. Thus not an unreasonable request for platforms at all.
2⃣ An opt-out option for users is not the magic solution against toxic algorithms. There are safer ways, but we shouldn't let Big Tech decide.

Overnight first real draft conclusions have been published: the draft conclusions under the Paris Agreement are here: unfccc.int/sites/default/… Mitigation section has quite some good language on acceleration of Paris review mechanism. On finance, it is quite weak. Last days start.

Balen! Ik kan er niets anders van maken. Net als ruim 3.000 D66-leden had ik enorm veel zin in het congres dit weekend. Maar voorzichtigheid blijft belangrijk, zeker met de oplopende besmettingen. Hopelijk tot snel op een fysiek congres!

Niemand krijgt in Polen toegang tot het grensgebied en humanitaire hulp wordt niet toegelaten. Dat is onacceptabel. De mensen die nu klem zitten tussen een dictator en de Poolse grenspolitie moeten daar weg en dat is een gezamenlijke 🇪🇺 verantwoordelijkheid. #ValuesFirst (2/2)

Green investors are against including gas and nuclear in EU green finance standard. Failure to follow the high standards the market expects, means taxonomy will be dead on arrival.

Samen hebben we daar veel meer invloed op. Een CBAM in Nederland zal weinig internationaal effect hebben. Maar als je handelt als de Europese markt in zijn geheel, dan zie je dat andere landen veel sneller mee gaan doen

Dit is exact het effect wat we hiermee hopen te bereiken. CBAM (en de gehele fit for 55) is er niet alleen om Europa klimaatneutraal te maken. Als we echt de leiders van de klimaatbeweging willen zijn, dan moeten we ons ook hardmaken om de rest van de wereld mee te krijgen

Tijdens haar hoorzitting zei @FrancesHaugen dat online platforms ook wat haar betreft te lang hun eigen regels hebben kunnen bepalen en dat het tijd is voor strenge en duidelijke regels. Ze heeft alle hoop op de EU gevestigd. Dit zei ik erover bij de @NOS

Prima eerste stappen. Maar er is meer nodig om dit criminele gedrag te straffen. EU moet verder Belavia en W-R economie hard raken.
EC is ook al in gesprek met derde landen om vluchten naar W-R te weren. Nu is de tijd om volle kracht EU te laten gelden!

Net een meeting gehad met Minister Sabra Ibrahim Noordeen van de Malediven.
Belangrijk om deze gesprekken te hebben met eilandstaten. Daar voelen ze de effecten van klimaatverandering vaak al heel lang.
