@vonderleyen @JosepBorrellF Given the imminent deadline, we exceptionally ask the Commission to inform the Parliament within 48 hours about the categories of persons that have been or are being evacuated, and about the measures taken to guarantee timely evacuations that are not yet planned. ⤵ (4/5)

@vonderleyen @JosepBorrellF A concrete example: the European Union Police Mission in Afghanistan, many of the former local staff is still present in the country and under threat. A list of 131 persons (former EUPOL staff + family) was submitted already in July, but they haven’t been evacuated. ⤵ (3/5)

@vonderleyen @JosepBorrellF Great uncertainty exists about the security situation and access to Kabul Airport, especially since Biden’s definite confirmation of the withdrawal of USA presence by this date, making evacuation considerably harder, if not impossible. ⤵ (2/5)

Europa is niet één land en wordt het ook niet binnen afzienbare tijd. Uit de Figaro van vandaag: De Fransen met een gemiddelde leeftijd van 35 jaar willen met 55 jaar met pensioen. De Nederlanders van diezelfde leeftijd met 66-68 jaar.

(2/2) Hierbij heb ik drie eisen :
1.Het minimumloon moet een ondergrens van fatsoen zijn.
2.Alle werknemers moeten gelijk behandeld worden, ongeacht leeftijd, handicap of geslacht?
3.Het collectief onderhandelen moet door heel Europa worden versterkt.

Ik vecht in Brussel voor Europese #minimumlonen: op naar een eerlijk, sociaal en fatsoenlijk Europa. Een Europa waarin iedereen die werkt rond kan komen én er soms iets extra’s vanaf kan zoals een schoolreis voor de kinderen. #leven niet #overleven.

@LauraBromet Zijn druiven wel zo gezond? Het is een hoop suiker en weinig vitaminen. Bovendien worden er erg veel bestrijdingsmiddelen gebruikt en dan heb ik nog niets over het vervoer! Laat deze milieubelastende keuze voor druiven dus aub geen navolging krijgen.

+361 dagen, ze zijn voorbij. De @EU_Commission moet antwoorden. De noodzaak het nieuwe rechtsstaat mechanisme te activeren om te beginnen bij Hongarije, is alleen maar toegenomen. De middelen om onze democratie en fundamentele waarden te verdedigen zijn er. Let’s use them! #RoL

Not entirely true. The @EU_Commission actually is accountable to @Europarl_EN as per Art 17,8 TEU. It is for Parliament to remind the Commission. That is not optional, but a Treaty obligation.

Het ontmenselijken van mensen op schepen en in Griekse kampen. Het weglopen voor solidariteit en verantwoordelijkheid in Europa. En afgelopen weken het ene stoere plannetje na t andere wat een dag later weer werd ingetrokken. Bah bah bah. (3/3)

En dit is waarom we nog steeds xenofobie en racisme op de (politieke) agenda moeten houden in Nederland én Europa. Het is een directe dreiging voor de fundamentele rechten van mensen. Ik verwacht dan ook een stevig en no-nonsense statement van politieke leiders in Nederland👇🏽

@DassenLaurens Kort door de bocht en onverstandig. Duitsland en Frankrijk zitten niet op één lijn. Het betekent daarnaast voor een belangrijk deel een dubbele uitvoering (NAVO) en hoogstwaarschijnlijk een structureel gebrek aan regie. Laat de EU eerst het vluchtelingenprobleem maar oplossen.
