Good discussion with @UNHCRGreece on the situation in the Vathy camp on Samos. There are currently 5 times more people in the camp than the capacity allows, including 500 children. There is an urgent need for more medical assistance and relocation.

Guaranteeing a reliable & pleasant 🇪🇺rail service is key in achieving Green Deal objectives! Sadly, Parliament voted in favour of weak rules on passengers' rights.

I’m sure it will please rail operators but it doesn't do enough to convince more people to take the🚊 for our 🌎!

As an entrepreneur I decided 5 years ago to become active in politics because the #RuleOfLaw in the Netherlands is in terrible condition. I am proud of my country and it deserves a better government and better representatives of the people. Democracy needs to be repaired. ⤵️

In the action plan for the European pillar of social rights, the @EU_Commission proposes a target to lift 15 million people out of poverty, but doesn't include the people who are homeless. The European leaders have an opportunity to make this right in Porto.

Homelessness increased by 70% in the past decade. Every night more than 700.000 people sleep rough. Due to the economic impact of the pandemic, this will only continue to rise, if we don't take action.

We need more quality jobs for people all over Europe, and poverty must be reduced by 50% if we want to meet the UNSDGs on our continent too!

Without upward social convergence, the EU project itself in the end crumbles down too.

Unbelievable that the Dutch govermment does not recognise this.

10 years of civil war in Syria; many people have died, cities are destroyed, hopes have vanished. Over half of Syrians lack food or shelter. Refugees can't go back, but can't build a future in Turkey, Lebanon or Jordan either. We need to take responsibility, in- and outside Syria

They were courageous to bring their case of discrimination to the @EUCourtPress and they won.

A win for all #LGBTI people in Europe, IF all Member States fully apply this judgement.

More quality jobs
Reducing poverty by half
& Zero deaths at work

People deserve these #SocialRights to become reality!

The energy bills in the #EU are increasing for citizens and companies because of renewables (solar, wind and biomass).
Lot’s of people are suffering because of energy poverty and companies will invest outside our EU borders. This is a losing game especially compared to China.

PL and HU governments now flatly refuse to recognise the authority of the #CJEU and EU Treaties. Yet Commission @vonderleyen and Council keep treating them with velvet gloves in stead of standing tall for judges, women, LGBTI people, civil society, journalists, refugees

We cannot accept that the Disciplinary Chamber continues to lift the immunity of Polish judges in view of criminal prosecution. A European area of Justice requires fully independent judges.

Will the @EU_Commission actually bite and enforce #LGBTIQ rights? On paper it seems ok but when Member States attack equality, the Guardian of the Treaties needs to step up. We sent a letter to @helenadalli asking concrete actions against discrimination of #LGBTIQ people

3). And amplifying fake news and hate on a large scale.
4). Specifically targetting certain people.
5). For profit.

Obliging these platforms to censor what is happening online is not the solution. By doing so we only reinforce their power to decide what is and what is not acceptable online and we put our democratic debates in the hands of corporations.

We have to tackle root causes.
