❌ A total ban on all data collection and microtargeting for ads

✅ Niet langer bepalen alleen platforms wat offline wordt gehaald.
✅ Verplichte transparantie over hoe algoritmes werken.
✅ Verbod op eindeloze cookie keuzes.
✅ Verbod op dataverzameling voor advertenties mbt gevoelige data zoals politieke voorkeur. (2/3)

De Big Tech lobby om niet verder te gaan in het aan banden leggen van tracken en microtargetting heeft NIET gewerkt💪. Targetten op gevoelige data als seksuele orientatie of religie wordt wat EP betreft verboden.

Europol verzamelt en bewaart al jaren data van onschuldige burgers. Ook van asielzoekers die geen link hebben met criminaliteit of terrorisme. Allemaal zonder juridische grond.
Goed dat de EU privacy toezichthouder @edps ingrijpt en dit verbiedt.

Very welcome decision by @EU_EDPS on @Europol illegal data use. A watchdog is only credible when it dares to bite.

A law enforcement body acting outside the law is unacceptable. Europol needs more powers, but through a democratic process.

👉An opt-in for online tracking and data-collection by platforms

- No facial recognition ‘without strict legal demarcation and control'
- Creation of an algorithm supervisor
- Right for children to not be followed and not to receive data profiles
- Strong emphasis on online identity

+1De Ierse toezichthouder moet de data van alle Europese Google- en Facebook-gebruikers bewaken, omdat die bedrijven in Ierland gevestigd zijn.

Daar gaat van alles mis, schrijf ik in een brandbrief aan de Europese Commissie. We hebben geen nationaal, maar Europees toezicht nodig.

Van de 1.000 overnames van Google, Apple, Facebook, Amazon en Microsoft in afgelopen 20 jaar is geen enkele door de EU tegengehouden (!).

Hoog tijd voor strenger toezicht. Goed dat de Commissie luistert naar onze oproep, en ook de rol van data meeneemt.

Mark Zuckerberg en Sheryl Sandberg gaan dit flink voelen in hun portemonnee.

Dat staat niet ter discussie. Begrijp je de analogie van e-mail programma's: je kan met je programma naar keuze naar iedereen mailen, toch? Waarom kan dat niet bij chat-apps?

Wat mij betreft moet het dan niet alleen gaan om spoorlijnen en havens, maar juist ook om digitale infrastructuur zoals telecom en mobiel internet. En bijvoorbeeld stoppen met Chinese bedrijven data te laten verzamelen in onze grensbewaking.

➡️ By prohibiting the ightconstant tracing of users and the creation of detailed personal profiles of users for personal ads.
➡️ And by putting in place EU environmental standards for software to green the tech industry. (2/2)

Een sterk staaltje EU-industriepolitiek vandaag. Om minder afhankelijk te worden van andere delen vd wereld worden er twee industriële allianties gestart: "chips" & data. Zo versterken we samen onze positie in deze belangrijke sectoren. Hopelijk sluiten veel NL-partijen aan!
