Interessant, want de Europese Commissie zag op haar beurt geen risico’s, nadat we erachter kwamen dat data van Nederlandse ambtenaren in lijn met #GDPR werd opgeslagen door Microsoft 🤔

7 Member States have still not transposed the Data Protection Law Enforcement Directive, leaving our data unprotected when used by police, judiciary or intel. I propose to replace it by a Regulation, so that our rights are directly and equally protected across the whole EU⤵️

@EWdeVlieger @cdaeuropa Bedrijven, die binnen het kader van de (Europese) wet moeten opereren - that was the point. Denk aan slimme apparaten in huis, hoe zorgen we ervoor dat de data die zij verzamelen niet in verkeerde handen valt?

Data zijn de nieuwe grondstof. Hoe kun je bedrijven die veel winst maken met onze data een eerlijke bijdrage laten leveren aan onze maatschappijen in plaats van ze over grenzen heen de dans te laten ontspringen - dat is de vraag waar de EU terecht een antwoord op wil

@JanSmits True. But awareness is growing rapidly. A decade ago privacy and data protection was a niche issue. No more. Attitudes have changed and today it is very much on our radar screen
