Shocking that the Polish government lets its own people down by confirming the supremacy of Polish law over EU law. The EU has to show all consequences immediately. and I genuinely hope for a new government respecting the EU values and its own citizens.

+1Worrying response by the @EU_Commission confirming that the vast majority of EUPOL staff is still stuck in Afghanistan.

The EU response was too little too late. The EU owes it to these people to step up efforts and coordinate their evacuation.

I believe that in Afghanistan we must find a difficult combination between continuing humanitarian aid (collapsing health care and impending famine), which requires some form of cooperation with the Taliban, and an open eye for support for the people who oppose the Taliban regime

As we speak of procedures, rules and what not; let’s not forget the human dimension of the Afghanistan crisis. Having to flee your home is a tragedy. Many people agree with that. The majority believes that Europe should help. It’s governments that think otherwise.

Today the #G7 will discuss the situation in Afghanistan and the fate of many Afghan people. EU leaders attending should underline the need for resettlement of vulnerable groups and push the international community to step up its evacuation and protection efforts.

.@IMFNews governors and @KGeorgieva should reconsider SDRs for Belarus. This regime has at least as little recognition as 🇻🇪. Would be a slap in the face of the brave Belarus people. We need to further isolate this dictator! @EU2021SI please coordinate EU governors on this issue.
