Groenen vragen sinds begin van de pandemie om het opheffen van patenten, samen met landen die nog op vaccins zitten te wachten.
Heel goed nieuws dat de Europese Commissie nu ook hierover wil praten, maar jammer dat dit pas gebeurd in navolging van de VS.

“Minister schrijft dat soja die in Nederland wordt verwerkt voor de 🇳🇱 consumptie, veelal voor diervoer, volledig wordt afgedekt met certificaten van de Round Table on Responsible Soy. Dat betekent dat de soja zónder ontbossing is geproduceerd.”🌳🐮🌴🌎

The US is no longer blocking the TRIPS waiver. It is time for the @EU_Commission and Member States to follow. Especially in Africa, the need for speeding up vaccination is crucial. Together with @MChahim, I’ve asked questions to the Commission. Will the EU take the next step?👇🏾

The US was one of the last countries to ask for a #TRIPSwaiver. Apparently the calls of all the other countries, who are still desperately waiting for vaccines, weren't heard. If global vaccination is really the priority, the EU supports the waiver as well.

‘Ready to assess’..... Yes, EU exports vaccines and US don’t. However, these exports mainly go to Canada, UK, Japan. We need a global roll-out. Fast.

@Mossyvet @ThierryBreton I have always criticized the US export ban. But let’s be honest, most of the EU exports go to Japan, UK, Canada.... Here we are talking about measures that really benefit the poorest. That has been the main point of criticism to the EU.
