I really hope that “protecting the European Way of life” does not continue to look this bleak and, frankly, this un-European.

Europe needs a sensible and humane migration policy that shows the world what true European values look like.

@DanielHewittITV Right...the mythical “intransigence” of the EU. As EU member UK: got budget rebate, opt out of police/justice cooperation, migration policies, and Charter of Fundamental Rights. UK not in Schengen nor in Eurozone, but full vote in EP and EC. Sounds pretty flexible to me.....

@hanskundnani @ceuhungary The extent to which nationalist parties can work together, for example in the next EP will determine in part, the success they will have. Sharing an anti-establishment objective is not the same as having a common plan. See Italian vs Hungarian govts on migration for example

Hungary, Czechia, Austria - and counting - all decided to withdraw from the UN negotiation for the Migration Compact, illustrating a complete misunderstanding of the process. This is not a treaty to facilitate migration, it merely tries to harmonise concepts of migration.
