Interesting thread&report. Dutch are turning more to Europe (France-Germany) instead of US (NL is historically one of the most transatlantic countries in EU). No real differences in which country is more of a threat (US, China, Russia) on average; larger per party-affiliation.

@vonderleyen invoked Adenauer: ‘what should we have done’. I told her she should herself ask this question. Why was EU so late? US was faster. Did EU focus too much on climate + too little on Corona? As we voted on EU-aid package today - Russia and China helping Italy. How come?

We are facing a serious challenge, but we have to remain calm. The EU has to immediately initiate talks with Russia and Turkey to resolve both crises in Idlib and at EU’s borders. Support for GR and BG is of utmost importance. We have to de-escalate and act now!
