All Member States have a legal & moral duty to fulfil obligations in granting international protection & returning illegally staying third-country nationals, as #ECJ ruling clearly reinforces. The proposed new #MigrationEU pact must be based on meaningful solidarity. @EPPGroup

Dit kan niet zo verder.
Geen handelsakkoorden meer met #China zonder harde concessies voor mensenrechten.

Historische uitspraak!

Het verbod op onverdoofd slachten in Vlaanderen is níet in strijd met het Europees recht en mag dus opgelegd worden. Tijd om dit extra dierenleed voor dieren te stoppen.

U wordt onnodig bang gemaakt met #ClimateChange. Overigens heette dat twee jaar geleden nog #GlobalWarming maar toen de meetresultaten veel lager uitkwamen dan de #klimaatmodellen is die naam aangepast. Maar er is gewoon geen noodsituatie👇

I'm worried that EU-leaders are more and more interfering with the legislative process in the European Union. We saw this happening at the last #EUCO, both with Rule of Law and on Climate.

In my contribution to the plenary debate I asked @vonderleyen not to accept this.

Crystal clear judgement: Hungary broke EU law by detaining asylum seekers in transit zones and blocking access to asylum. It once again shows that Orban doesn’t care about human rights and the Rule of Law. It also sets red lines for the upcoming Migration Pact negotiations.

Hongarije sloot asielzoekers op aan de grens en weigerde hen toegang tot asiel. Het EU Hof is heel duidelijk: dit kan niet. EU-asielbeleid moet dus niet bewegen richting Orbán als “compromis”. Op mensenrechten en de rechtsstaat doen we geen concessies.

Uitzendwerk is bedoeld om piek of ziek op te vangen, maar hele sectoren draaien structureel op uitzendwerk. Als uitzendkracht verdien je zekerheid over je werkrooster en inkomen.

Er zijn geen regels over wie een uitzendbureau mag starten. Misstanden en onderbetaling zijn de orde van de dag. We moeten het kaf van het koren scheiden.

Een Europese vergunningsplicht voor uitzendbureaus stopt de race naar de beneden!

On the outside @EPPGroup still looks like the respectable, mainstream conservative party it used to be. But the decay is spreading freely on the inside. It has become a vehicle for power and cynical calculation. Values and convictions have left the building.

There are so many good, decent @EPPGroup members, but they are unable to change the @EPPGroup from the inside. They should draw their conclusions and leave a group that doesn’t represent their values.
