In 2021, Morocco pressured Spain because of its position on the independence of the Western Sahara, by allowing thousands of migrants to cross into Spanish enclaves Ceuta and Mellila. Successfully, because the government changed its position. (7/8)

Very disappointing deal of the Council. This is old Europe at its worst. A backdoor deal with candidates emerging to please the national leaders from Germany, France and Spain. This is not the change that was promised to European voters. EP should not follow.

In 1581 NL Parliament deposed King Philips II of Spain as ruler for oppressing his citizen. The ‘Plakkaat van Verlatinghe’ was elected the most important document of NL. It inspired American Declaration of Independence and French Revolution. Rulers should serve and not dictate!
