Zo ben ik tijdens mijn studententijd weleens gevraagd of ik een nieuwe motivatiebrief kan schrijven “die meer bij mijn naam past.” De brief was volgens de recruiter te goed geschreven voor iemand met mijn naam. Heb de stage niet gekregen. En het was toch echt mijn eigen brief.

Werk moet lonen.

Jongeren niet betalen voor volwaardig werk: een vorm van arbeidsuitbuiting, onder het mom van een werkervaringsplek of stage.

Daarom stem ik donderdag voor een verbod op onbetaalde stages, een cruciale stap om een einde te maken aan deze onrechtvaardigheid.

Stages kunnen jonge mensen enorm helpen aan de start van hun loopbaan. Daarom moet iederéén toegang hebben tot goede en waardevolle stages.

Een betaalde stage betekent dat ook mensen zonder een dikke portemonee hun kans kunnen wagen.
