Onderzoekscommissie #COVID-19 is van start gegaan. Ik wil dat fouten worden erkend zodat onze vrijheden nooit meer zo ernstig worden ingeperkt. Daarom vraag ik de Eurocommissaris hoe ze denkt over de enorme schade door de ellenlange lockdowns. Vindt ze die achteraf proportioneel?

@kmlvrmln @trouwschmidt @EP_JA21 Nee. Puur formeel zegt deze stemming niks over de inhoud van het voorstel. Je kunt bijvoorbeeld vóór het voorstel zijn en toch wensen dat het eerst plenair behandeld wordt voordat onderhandelingen van start kunnen gaan.

From a climate and a geopolitical perspective, we need to stop the expansion of coal, oil and gas and start debating an import ban on Russia’s fossil fuels.

We tried a total exclusion of fossils, but only managed a solid fossil exclusion. These two have been complicated from the start. Hoped the Commission would act wisely on that...

Incredible. The Commission concludes that pushbacks take place at the Lithuanian/Latvian/Polish border, but doesn’t want to start an infringement procedure because of a lack of evidence. Even the national rules allow for pushbacks. What more do you need, Guardian of the Treaty?

I therefore suggest to shorten the transitional phase from 3 to 2 years.

The CBAM factor (to reduce free allowances) will start after the pilot phase, and shall be equal to 90 % in 2025, 70 % in 2026, 40% in 2027, and will reach 0% by the end of 2028.
