Vandaag spraken wij in het Europees Parlement over de rechtsstaat in #Polen.
Maar wat is het slecht gesteld met de rechtsstaat in Nederland. Het kabinet is afgetreden vanwege de #toeslagenaffaire maar de info van toen was slechts het topje van de ijsberg.

Het Poolse recht weegt zwaarder dan het Europese, was twee weken geleden het oordeel van het Poolse Constitutionele Hof. Vandaag debatteerde premier Morawiecki met het Europees Parlement over de uitspraak, die een bom legt onder de basisprincipes van de EU. #Nieuwsuur

Ik snap dat de Burgemeester dat wil maar die komt er niet. Net zoals er geen oplossing komt voor de aardbevingschade en ook geen oplossing voor de toeslagen-slachtoffers. Het wordt tijd voor rechtszaken tegen de staat met een stevige schadevergoeding als inzet.

De Poolse premier heeft gelijk. Met respect voor elkaar en de autonomie van elke lidstaat blijft de EU op koers.
Het zijn de Lid-Staten die bevoegdheden delegeren naar de EU.
De Poolse premier spreekt het Europese Parlement toe over het conflict over de Poolse rechtsstaat. “We moeten naar elkaar toe bewegen, maar aanvaarden en respecteren dat er verschillen zijn."

Overall, I believe this outcome is good for our economy, the health of our banks and consumer protection. @Europarl_EN and @EUCouncil now need to work on an agreement on the remaining part of the file, concerning out-of-court collateral recovery of secured business loans (AECE).

First, the agreement allows for a harmonised, European secondary market for NPLs. This means banks can more easily reduce the NPLs on their balance sheets. A reduction of NPLs helps to increase lending to the real economy, which is especially welcome after the Covid crisis.

De huidige Europese begrotingsregels zijn niet te handhaven, omdat ze economisch achterhaald zijn.
Hervorming moet gericht zijn op hoe begrotingsregels zich verhouden tot brede welvaart, de klimaatcrisis, ongelijkheid en het monetair beleid.

Ook op 🇪🇺 niveau nog geen helderheid. Bijna 2 maanden na laatste grote evacuaties geen betrouwbaar beeld welke #EUPOL medewerkers waar zijn en hoe EU verdere bescherming kwetsbare mensen coördineert.
